In this article, we aim to demonstrate that the low prices of goods produced in the global South and the attendant modest contribution of its exports to the Gross Domestic Product of the North conceals the real dependence of the latter’s economies on low-waged Southern labor. We argue that the relocation of industry to the global South in the past three decades has resulted in a massive increase of transferred value to the North. The principal mechanisms for this transfer are the repatriation of surplus value by means of foreign direct investment, the unequal exchange of products embodying different quantities of value, and extortion through debt servicing.

On imperialisme and globalization
"Part One focuses on political history, Part Two on political economy, and Part Three on political practice. There are also two appendices: one on Marx's theory of value, and one on Foucault’s theory of power. Both are essential to understanding my approach, but they are included as appendices to avoid disrupting the book’s narrative."

It may, on the face of it, appear strange that a political organisation in Denmark should support the publication of a periodical in Tanzania – a periodical, moreover, which addresses itself to readers in the Third World. Why do we not concentrate our efforts on political work in our own part of the world and publish a periodical aimed at the Danish Working class? Why do liberation movements and socialist forces in the Third World command the major part of our attention? This choice of priorities is the outcome of certain fundamental political considerations.

Quotations from Chairman Mao Zedong [...] 'In Memory of Norman Bethune' (毛主席语录 [...] 纪念白求恩), 1967. The original text of the quotation comes from Mao Zedong's article "In Memory of Comrade Norman Bethune" (纪念白求恩; December 21, 1939): "We must all learn the spirit of absolute selflessness from him. With this spirit everyone can be very useful to the people. A man's ability may be great or small, but if he has this spirit, he is already noble-minded and pure, a man of moral integrity and above vulgar interests, a man who is of value to the people. (我们大家要学习他毫无自私自利之心的精神。从这点出发,就可以变为大有利于人民的人。一个人能力有大小,但只要有这点精神,就是一个高尚的人,一个纯粹的人,一个有道德的人,一个脱离了低级趣味的人,一个有益于人民的人。) The three figures in the lower right are shown holding the "Three Old Articles" (老三篇) --- which, from the right to the left, are “Serve the People” (为人民服务, 1944), "In Memory of Comrade Norman Bethune" (纪念白求恩, 1939), and "The Foolish Old Man Who Removed the Mountains" (愚公移山,1945) respectively. In particular, the female on the right side wears the armband of the Red Guard (红卫兵). Coiver of Gotfred Appel: The Devious Roads of the Revolution
The Soviet Union and China are each of them experiments of this kind - experiments made possible by history's winding road of development in this century and the specific conditions in Russia in 1917 and in China before and after the Second World War and by the Communist Parties of the two countries, by Lenin and Mao respectively, and by the working masses of people whom they led.

The economic-trade union demands involved in the present and a number of former collective agreement situations are manifestations of needs and wishes on a material level (and spiritual-ideological level) characteristic of a working class in a country, where the capitalists have been able to give and have had a direct interest in giving the workers a share in the super profits of western capitalism as a whole from the exploitation of the majority of mankind – the peoples of the present and former colonial, semicolonial and dependent countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America.
